February 4th : A BREAKFAST RELISH
The flesh of a cold roast fowl, and an equal quantity of tongue, chopped into minute particles, and then beat in a mortar, with a tea-spoonful of salt, half a one of Cayenne, enough powdered mace to cover a six pence, and the same quantity of grated nutmeg, will make an acceptable breakfast dish.
When well mixed in the mortar, place it in a flat dish, or oval gallipot, and pour lard over the top to preserve it.
