A Peruvian Astringent Electuary.
Take powder'd Bark of Peru 1 ounces; Balsam of Tolu, Japanic Earth, each 1 dram; Mr. Boyle's Syrup as much as is sufficient, mix.
Its a special and very effectual Remedy for the spitting of Blood, for it consolidates and (as 'twere Hermetically) seals up the gaping or ruptur'd Vessels; and that without danger of an Ulcer to the Lungs, which frequently happens upon taking other Medicines, to the irreparable detriment of the Sick. Also after due Phlebotomy, it extinguishes Colliquative Hectic Fevers, as faith the Communicator.
Its for ten Doses to be taken twice of thrice a day, with two or three Spoonfuls of Plantain or Snail Water.
